Bought one of these hawks because I like the shape , I sanded the ugly black paint off of it and welded up the set screw hole , I put super blue on it and then sanded it back a little with grey scotch Brite pad , not an actual working pipe hawk you can smoke no holes are drilled , guess it's my hammer poll hawk , I like it now to stain the handle a little !

Just bought a Cold Steel “1847 Rifleman’s Knife” that was made in India. Most impressed with the knife, its apparent quality, and price. Third blade I’ve gotten from India (repro French sword and tomahawk) and all have been top shelf. Whatever complaints people may have with the muskets it doesn’t seem to apply to blades in my experience.
 
Got nothing against Cold Steel and I have several of their products. But I do like and think it important to support the artists, artisans, and craftsmen on our forum.
I can recommend Tallpine and Twofeathers and am open to others.
When you buy something from these guys it is more like you commissioned a work of art. Maybe a plain faced and homespun work but art nonetheless.
