I wounded 5 turkeys in 3 years with my cylinder bore trade gun, all less than 25yds, none recovered. Killed one last year with a modern shotgun, very anticlimactic.

I am probably the least HC hunter on the board. I hunt deer out of a treestand with my Beck, dress in Filson wool, don't own a stitch of period clothing and enjoy what I do.

The barrel I mentioned is going into a 12ga, JUG CHOKED(no more wounded turkeys) English fowler turkey gun, scratch build by the way, by me.

I am at a stage where I like to make all my hunting weapons if possible, period correctness doesn't enter into the equation, just my way of doing things.

I guess I like to add a degree of difficulty to my hunting experience by using a flintlock or osage selfbow and wood arrows, all of which I made myself.

I originally was going to use a long hammock barrel but they seem to be making very few these days and I haven't been able to get one. Do you have contact info for Rayl and Getz ?

Rebreeching my breech plug today. The plug is about 1 and 1/4 flat away from the breech face,just starting to touch lightly with a 1 flat adjustment.

I will have to go 2 flats to get it right which will put the company logo on the side flat. I used a punch to push the metal back into the stamping so I could draw file the logo away.

Eric;
Same age, same philosophy!
And I got a brand new Orvis bright red wool coat to wear in my treestand with my Lancaster! :thumbsup:

Did you call Jim Chambers? Barbie, his daughter, runs the barrel business, Buckeye Barrels. She may have some in stock. She will not sell Colerain barrels.
