That would be tuff to do either. The muzzle measures .573
No round balls says the barrel manufacture. I’ll have to stick with shot.
I’ll probably make some paper shot cups out of craft paper. The buffer between the powder and shot is the experiment.
One thought, talk to a expierenced gun builder and have another Colerain barrel installed. Keep your choked barrel for shot, swap it out for round ball. BJH

Shooting with:
80 Gr 3f Swiss
20 cal 1/4 “ Felt Wad
11/8 Oz # 71/2 shot
Tow over powder

Great pattern at 35 yds. No large open areas, good cover.
So, next year I’ll get a 40 cal.

I know several who have choked smoothbore muzzleloaders.. including me, and they regularly shoot round ball.
I haven't tried it yet, but i have a 10 bore full choke i wanna try it on.
Many buy a cylinder bore then send them to be jug choked, you won't have to.
I bend the "corner" of my wads to get them in the bore, then down they go.

Good luck.

Ps, Nimrod is old nickname for hunter.
My dad bought Nimrod ammo when i was a kid
