Hope this is ok here. Trying to find a value on this 36 caliber Colt. Looked online but didn't find much.
Reason I'm asking is the person who has it wants to trade towards a Double barrel shotgun plus $200.
I value my shotgun at $400 plus.
TIA

Vic

I just looked at the completed items on Gunbroker and one just sold for $560. Add shipping and fees on that so I would say the pistol valued at $600 is fair.

First off, that silly "Sam Colt" engraved on the grip frame is a big turn off for me. Opinions vary, but I am of the firmly convinced that those "Colts" are nothing other than Italian repros, with final assembly and finishing done here in America. I have been told that Iver Johnson was subcontracted by Colt to do the final work and polish. I am not certain of that fact, but I've heard it often enough that it arouses suspicion. Speaking of finish, it seems from the pics provided that it is bespeckled with rust on the grip frame. That would concern me about other parts being rusty. I would pay more for a new Uberti 1862 Police, than I would for that particular "Colt". I wouldn't give anything near $600 for either. JustinOldGuy's opinion, if it makes you happy and satisfied, it's your money.

Well I guess I'm gonna pass on it. Read somewhere that the blemishes, splotches or whatever it is, are quote:
"almost impossible to remove" unquote.
And he doesn't know if its been fired or not. He got it in a trade with some other stuff.
There's one on this forum right now in better condition for about the same price.

I will go around $500-600 for that gun with other peoples money.
