Been awhile since I posted anything. I thought you might like seeing my fire pit woodstove combo. I built this about 20 years ago.
I went to my first rondy in Wy. I got camp all set up and started to dig my firepit, when a guy asked "What are you doing? " I told him digging a pit and thats when he advised there was a fire ban on and you couldn't have an open fire. So for three days I dried meat on a rock in the hot Wy. sun. Tried raw eggs and didn't really care for them. So when I got home I built a firepit woodstove combo.
The legs and grates store inside the irons have their own sack. Use as a firepit during the day, and when it cools down take it inside the tent and put on the flue and use it as a woodstove on those chilly nights. You have to put dirt around the top to seal the stove.
I added a couple more grates so small things wouldn't fall into the fire.
Enjoy.
