Hello folks,

I've recently become a forum supporter and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to those that may not know me. I started Civil War reenacting back in the 70's and have enjoyed it immensely over the years. I began to get interested in Civil War arms and other black powder weapons and started a study of them. I then decided to defarb my muskets and some of my friends. And that's what started my small business in.

I am now full time at it in Sikeston, Missouri and do gunsmithing, defarbing, etc. on black powder weapons. I have an FFL and an explosive license. I am a dealer for Taylors, Pietta, Pedersoli and Chiappa and I don't think you will beat my prices anywhere. I buy, sell and trade used guns and have initiated projects to have some things made that just aren't common in the Civil War reenacting field at all - especially for the Lorenz musket. I do carry black powder and caps but only sell in person at events etc.

Take a look at my website and Facebook page. www.comersgunworks.com and https://www.facebook.com/ComersGunworks/ Check back on the website every now and then because I am often posting new and used guns that have come in.

I have also started a monthly newsletter on Substack that you might find interesting.

My guarantee is "If you don't like it, you don't pay." Looking forward to making some new friends on this forum. Thanks for taking a moment to read this.

Very good to know about your business! Hope it will flourish and that I can give you some trade in the future. Best of luck!

Depends on the job and what time and effort it takes. I charge $40/hr labor. If I have to order any parts, you only pay actual cost of part and shipping. I keep a variety of parts in stock. Return shipping is a flat $40 for long arms and $25 for pistols. Do you have a particular project you're wanting to get done?

I got a Miroku 1766 Charleville, and the lock needs some work. As you can see from the clip, the frizzen doesn't go all the way forward.
