Well, I gave my Colt 1860 his hammer face and v-notch fixes, and hope to make it out to the range to test them out soon.

I do this to all my colt replicas. Even have the same set of diamond sharpeners, my arkansas stone is flat and my triangle is ceramic.

Ditto. I'm done the same modification to the hammer. Never have had a cap jam.

Following are pics of the mods I did to the hammer v-notch that resulted in zero elevation POI offset:

I didn't need to use a Dremel cutting wheel to deepen the v-notch; I found filing to be effective enough.
