Does anybody have a handy reference chart that shows what caliber = what guage? 10 ga down to .410 (I'm pretty sure I can figger out that last one).

Bore (gauge)____Caliber

10_____________.775

12_____________.729

16_____________.662

20_____________.615

28_____________.550

This information was obtained from Martin Pegler's
book "Powder and Ball Small Arms".

Thanks for the numbers GrayBear, but those are just the easy, common ones. What about the oddball, wierd guages in between the modern standard ones. Like 11, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 21-27?
Those are what I was really looking for. I know I have seen posts that mentioned 11, 13, 14, 18 and 24. Besides ones I have heard of that said stuff like "a .69 caliber smoothbore" and such. What guage is that? I have had no luck searching the web for this info. All I come up with is for modern standard guages.

Just as an added reference note:
Caliber is derived from decimals of inch diameter.
Gague is derived from the number of round balls that can be cast from one pound of lead.

And there is a conversion chart posted as a sticky in the "Pre-Flintlock" forum:
