What are your favorite cornbread recipes??

This is one I really like.

3boxes of Jiffy Corn Muffin mix
6 eggs
1 regular size can of creamed corn.

Mix and bake.

My favorite and easiest to fix food.

Technutz,

Glad you posted your recipe. The cornbread you made last week was outstanding and actually went very well with several meals when you let us keep the leftovers.

technuts,
i use much the same recipe but i add 2tlps of
sugar and 1/4 cup of olive oil to the mix and add 5 or 6 minutes to the baking time. same resaults just a tad sweeter
and moister :imo: :results:

snake-eyes :peace: :)

I also like to add a couple of tablespoons of bacon grease to it too. Even adding some fresh bacon bits to it is good too.

OK, let's get serious here now. All of these additions are fantastic but you guys are leaving out the best part - the little chunks of jalepeno peppers!

Technutz and I run a restaurant review website that is popular around here and in the twin-cities. So obviously food and anything to do with food is very interesting to us. It's very hard for me to read through our mountain-man cookbook and have much of it sound palitable! How did they survive without a splash of red wine or saffron.

Peppers....we don't need no stinking peppers...but I like mine with bits of blue berries.:shake: I know....that is a strange combination....but, I am a strange person. :youcrazy:    :shake:

Right you are. We forgot to take that button off the menu a long time ago. Too many people asking us to go to restaurants and review them before they visit them. Got to be a nuisance.

The correct link is Living The Good Life

Can you believe technutz, our webmaster, forgot the www!

Didn't mean to hype a website that has nothing to do with BP but thought I should explain our big interest in food and recipes.

Saffron? Look at the website you are on. We don't even know what that is! My gawd man grease is spice here 'bouts! LOL
Wine now we're getting somewhere! Beer now we're cooking with gas!

BOT, what is your favorite food to eat corn bread with?
I like it with chili. :redthumb:

A side of buffalo roast with creamed mushrooms and a glass of apple cyder.
:imo:

That's not Indian food, Linda! LOL J/k. I like cornbread any ol' way. If its sweet cornbread, try it in milk. Jalepeno cb is good, too.

I like the recipe that comes on the cornbread box and have been known to throw in a small can of green chiles occasionally. You cant beat warm cornbread with a chunk of cold butter right in the middle.. mmmmm mmmmm

one of my favorite winter time comfort foods are
navy or lima beans cooked in with a good ole meaty ham bone served with a slice of cornbread. Cant beat it, well maybe tater soup could, but thats another thread :winking:

I might sugest you toss in a heaping table spoon of brown sugar to that mix.

I liked my corn fritter sweet when I could eat them. Seems I developed an allergy to corn. My stomach can't seem to digest it anymore.
