I do not look at horoscopes if I did I am sure Saturday's would have told me not to go out of the house or handle any Flintlocks! I was at Latta Plantation for a reenactment of the battle of Charlotte in 1780, Lord Cornwallis short invasion of North Carolina. I had a Ferguson Rifle demonstration at 12:30 and the battle reenactment at 2:30. Around 11, I took out my Ferguson to put in a new flint. I noticed the lock was not working right. As it turned out the sear spring had wore out. Bryan Brown loaned me the sear spring out of his Ferguson Rifle so I could do the planned demonstrations. At 2:30 I fought in the battle helping Lord Cornwallis invade Charlottetown. I was a Jaeger using my Jaeger Rifle. After the battle I noticed the frizzen spring was about to fall off my rifle.
Two major spring problems in two hours. It is the worst "spring" day I have ever seen!

Holy cow man! You are shooting entirely too much! At least they are easy to fix.

So, how did you replace the worn out spring? What is the "rest of the story"?
