That looks like the hawk sold by several vendors. Documentation?

I have issues with the fact it is stamped with anything but a touchmark. Looks like an item someone threw together from a piece of crap steel and a chunk of leftover pipe.
 
What the heck now!! That has to be a "Real McCoy", as it is just like my hatchet stamped G. Washington and has a cherry tree touch mark!

I don't know if Harpers Ferry made a tomahawk like the one in the picture but I do know that cannot be one that was made for L&C to take with them.

The 1805 date marked on it would be about 2 years after they set off on their adventure (1803) and a year before they returned (1806).

What part of "story" did they miss?
I also question the story and the dates. But, I think it is neat and currently doing what it does best...hanging on my wall looking neat.
