correct wood for an english pistol?

You must have had serious scratch to build a pistol using sterling silver furniture.
I bet the guy that collected it off the battle field was greatly appricative of it.
Brass is fine and that's what I am going to use.

I've mounted several guns in sterling or coin silver. It doesn't cost all that much more when you look at the overall cost of the project.
