Cossack powder measures

I am interested in getting some brass cossack-style powder measures. My google-fu has failed me -- does anyone have a clue where I can get some?

I might end up having to have a machine shop make them for me.

The standard cossack jacket had mini pockets along the breast for closed single-shot powder measures. They were usually brass and highly decorated.

I am looking for similar brass tubes, only undecorated.

Nice jacket and functional powder measure pockets. You might try brass tubing and some sort of stopper, maybe conduit nipples.

 

look in your flying model shop parts dept for all sorts of brass tubes.

Balcksburg: Most of the jackets I have seen in Hollywood movies used .45-70 brass in those loops. There was a lot of that stuff around, and the prop shops just made do. If you want to be absolutely authentic, then get some brass tubes, and make your own.

I found some 50/70 cases in Dixie that might fill the bill. They also have some .45/3.25-inch cases

i know this is an OLD topic but just wanted to add that these werent made of brass or some other metal, just the caps were. they are actually wooden tubes with metal caps. very similar to the ones used by the old matchlock users
