Just wondering what others do about this... Seems that me as well as others I know have problems in club shoots. "Was that the third or fourth shot I took at that target?"

Count out the required no. of balls and set apart from stash.

That's what I generally do. If I'm shooting a caplock I'll put the proper number of caps in a leather capper. Beats the heck out marking my fingers with a magic marker. :)

I do 'boout the same as the others, cept I just use a loading block with the needed number of balls. I have to...I have enough just remembering that patch..powder..ball thingy :)

Reminds me of my mental lapse on my Saturday morning range trip...I was very close to the end of a 50 shot string just playing with steel targets, and double balled twice in a row: #46 & 47, then #48 & 49.

I guess the only reason I didn't double ball #50 is because it was the only ball left in the box!

When shootin' at Club shoots, I put 5 ball (or however many each target requires) in an empty cap tin. When the tin is empty, that target is shot.

I also use a capbox when I am not using my range box which has a groove routered into it to hold 5 .495 round balls.

Then I do not need to count -- I just stop shooting when I run out. :)

For club shoots I put 4 targets on the backboard, then put 4 groups of 3 balls on the bench in the same pattern as the targets. I'm old, I need all the help I can get to keep track.
