Got a Lyman Great Plains rifle that cracked from the top down through the bolt that goes all the way through. Tried thin supper glue then wraped it tight with inner tube but it recracked. Drilled down from the top edge with heavey duty wood glue and added a brass screw but it still cracking. Any other ideas??

Can you post a picture of it so we can best see the problem? :hmm:

Posting a photo would be helpful. One suggestion is clean real good with alcohol the crack of all previous glue attempts(Must have clean wood to work).Let wood dry. Then use Acraglass to fix.If the crack is large use Gel.If small use liguid Acraglass.Use release agent on the bolt/any metal that you do not want glued to the wood permanently.(Bowling Alley Wax is a excellent release agent).Wrap in Latex hose real tight for 24 hours.Hope this helps. :winking:

Also Bowling Alley wax on the exterior of the stock will prevent acraglass from sticking to the finish and ease cleanup of any spillage :winking: .
