work's ok for me, i will use it from on. save the good stuff for the patches and wads, cheaper if bought unlub'd, also use it for on top of ball. just a dab around cyl wall, i use a wad for this, less gunk to clean, this is what i did, put balls in can with crisco, just o small amount to coat the balls, tried bacon grease, too messy, did this to day,rb's have nice coating, might be the right amount were i don't have to put dab on top. will see next weekend, they are slippery, use some type of tong or just pour them into bag, pouch, box, no need for rifle, the patch dose it for you

I use it as well, just don't let it sit out like I did...I had a small tub of it and some conicals lubed with it in my range box, I became busy with school and work and didn't shoot for bout a year....that was a couple years ago and my range box still smells a little rancid, even after cleaning it out :barf:

well you make just the amount your to shoot, i think a week is ok, i shoot at least 25-30 per, but a year! man i think i would go :youcrazy: and :cursing: if i could not shoot smoke at least once a month! how did you mange?

It melts too fast out here in Phoenix. Just make a mess. I have been using lubed wads instead.

I place crisco in a bowl and melt it in the microwave. Then, I draw it into a few of those cheap oral syringes you can get at walgreens or CVS. Once it solidifies, you have a refillable pinpoint dispenser to top off the chamber, no mess, no fuss. I bought a two pack, which got me thru most of an afternoon's shootin'.

I've used Crisco extensively with my C&B's and find it easy to use and CHEAP, too. I keep it (marked, of course) in the fridge and drag it out before shooting to keep it from melting on those hot summer days. My only complaint; your gun can get rather hard to hold onto after a while, Carry a good supply of rags with you.
Cleanup is a snap, as was mentioned.

I carry rags as well those grips do get slippery. I have an old plastic Skoal container that I pack full with crisco using a putty knife. I carry it in the bottom of my shooting box. When I get to the range I take the lid off the container and set it on the bench. i use the same putty knife and dip a corner of it in the container. I place the revolver on half **** push the crisco in the first chamber and spin the cylinder and hold the blade against the cylinder face. It fills all the chambers with one spin. After a couple of times you will know exactly how much Crisco to scoop out.

I just started to use it ,just found a supply here in AUS. .Previous I used TC 1000, tthe stuff in the yellow tube its $17 a tube here so I am trying CRISCO ,seems ok so far.

I use it as an over-the-ball lube (never have cared for wads); it gets a bit runny when hot, but still does the trick.
