Mine rust like crazy after shooting. whether you use BP,T7 or Pinnacle, clean immediately. Ordinary oil doesn't stop it after cleaning. You need moisture displacing oil. That has beem my experience.
 
Give CorrosionX a try. It displaces water and is the best rust proofer I've found. Ballistol works well to, but I haven't trusted it for long term storage. I use Ballistol/water as a cleaning solvent, then follow with straight Ballistol to remove any water that might be left behind. So far no rust.
