Instructions with "new" gun from 1868 say 2 1/2 drams powder to 1-ounce of shot. Curtis and Harvey's No. 4 or No.6 powder should be used. Does anyone know what granulation of powder this would be in relation to what is available today?

in more recent times, C&H only produced no 2 and No 6.
(TS2 and TS6)
If I remember right, TS2 was between 2F and 3F, and TS 6 was closer to 1F, but not quite.

I Think, Rifle powder was close to No 6. larger grains but V clean in the old stuff.
