I have the below custom built mule ear rifle for sale. I built the gun and completed it in August of this year. It has been sighted in and shot approx. 20 times. It is very accurate with a .311 round ball and .016 lubed patch. The price is $1,675 which includes full insurance coverage and shipping in a custom wood crate - to normal postal areas. I accept USPS Money Orders or I can take credit/debit cards with the added 3% cost of using a card.

For partial sale/trade, I am in need of some Thompson Center Hawken, Renegade, Cougar, Seneca or Cherokee rifles in either flint or percussion. They must be in good shape, have all the correct parts and not have any rust or pitting in the barrel. No straight trades will be considered. About the maximum value I can go on the regular Thompson's is $400 and that is the very top end for a mint rifle. I will be modifying them and can not afford to tie up much money on the front end.

what was the time period of them? any pictures of original ones? I like them. were they ever made in larger calibers? seems every one comes in 32 CAL.

Olskool, The very little I shot it when rough sighting it in showed it was going to be extremely accurate. I was playing with the load and moving the sights, so I can't give a definite group size.

Toot, mule ear locks came on the scene sometime in the later 1830's if I have my history correct. Yes, they were used with many different calibers. If you will look on this same "For Sale" site, you will see I also have a 45 and a 54 caliber for sale. If you want original pictures, the best bet is to type in Mule Ear rifles in your Google search engine.

Bringing back up with a few changes. I no longer need any of the Thompson Center rifles for my project builds.

Also, I am reducing the sale price to $1,575 which includes full value insurance and shipping in a wooden crate.
