custom barrel

I'm interested in building a fast twist 50 or 54 rifle with a tapered barrel 1 1/8" to 1" and can't seem to find a barrel from any of the major manufacturers. Does anyone have any barrel makers they could pass on to me? I'm also interested in opinions on rifling depth. I plan on shooting lead conicals, not sabots in a Hawken style rifle.

You could try The Gunworks. They have a tapered Oregon Barrel that is advertised in different sizes, calibers and twists. They might be worth a call.

Also contact John Taylor here. He had one made for me. A .54 Cal. 1:27" twist. Shoots :thumbsup: !

Might try Les Bauska. He made a tapered 45-110 barrel for me specificaly for heavy cast bullets 1-18 twist and it is vey accurate :thumbsup:
