There is a You Tube Video called Acorn to Arabella. Massachusetts man building a large wood sail boat. In a few episodes he’s casting a 22 ton keel. He and his volunteers cut very large chunks of lead using chain saws. Chain saws, even the electric or battery operated are very efficient for this.

Hello,
I have a literal brick of lead. Obviously much too large to fit into my casting pot. What method(s) could be used to cut small sliced off this mass?
Thanks,
Bruce
Ive used an axe and a sledge before . I had these big pieces of lead , still have one , and put an axe on it the beat the back of it with a small sledge hammer to cut off chunks of it ....then smaller pieces off it . Use eye protection ....

I lay things like that across the pot and then melt the edges with a propane torch, allowing the melted lead to drip into the pot.
