I picked up this NOS barrel recently in the hopes of running into a poorly maintained rifle in the future. One with a rusty bore. I have a CVA kentucky already and it is in very good condition however the idea of having another with a new barrel would be nice. After looking at this new barrel, it only says CVA, what is in the photo, and a serial number. No proof marks. My other barrel on my rifle does not say CVA anywhere, it says jukar spain and a much higher serial number with no other info, no proof marks, not even the common black powder only warning. Also, the NOS barrel has noticeably wider grooves in the rifling and the rear sight dovetail is a couple inches more towards the front, the under tenons and front sight dovetail, tang, are all the same as the spain barrel. I think it is the law that products made outside of the USA have to be marked with the country or origin. Does anyone know why they are so different?
