I do not see any rust in the barrel and it was oiled prior to being put away. The outside of the barrel does have some spots of surface rust due to of all things...A pet cat walking over the rifle from time to time. The lock is in good condition with it's color case but the barrel where she walked did develop some rust. If I were to keep it and use it, the rifle has great natural patina to the brass and the barrel would look great stripped and browned.
Or it could be left alone and be a great shooter.
