Euan, Mine came from a guy called John who told me he had it in South Africa, took it to the States shooting and sold it to me about 6 years . Said he built it from a kit. Certainly cannot be too many of them here.
Have seen a 50cal one for sale a while back on T/M.
 
Great looking rifle! And good shooting! I have one just like yours. I bought it as a kit back in the early 80s and still have it. I have two other CVA kits I put together back around the same time. A .32 squirrel and a flinter .45 Kentucky. Still have them all.
