I came across a .50 Cal. CVA Bobcat barrel in a storage locker I purchased a couple years ago. This week I purchased, from an Auction site, a complete "wooden" stock, lock assm., trigger assem., tang, ram rod, etc., basically everything else except the wedge pin & it fits the barrel perfectly, but I thought all the bobcat's were completely synthetic. Any idea's on the Stock's model?

if it has a brass buttplate, triggerguard and nosecap it could be a frontier rifle stock.

It could also be a Plainsman. They have a plastic buttplate, aluminum trigger guard, and no nosecap.

I've bought a couple recently for $50 each. I fix them up as needed and give them out to youths or a Boy Scout troops to hopefully get them hooked on the shooting sports and black powdah arms.

I have a new in the box Bobcat. If I could find a wood stock (one with the brass trim would be really nice), I would be inclined to keep it. As it is, it is just sitting...

CVA made another wood stocked model called the Woodsman and the parts are a direct swap-n-fit with the Bobcat.
Friend and member here Cutshurt did just that.

a frontier rifle stock will fit it. they had brass buttplate, triggerguard and nosecap.
