Just completed refinish on CVA. Was a decent gun, taken in on a trade. I wanted the stock darker and it turned out ok I believe. All of the metal was in the white. I was tempted to leave it, but wanted it to appear like a worn finish. Added a butt plate. I wanted to share images, thank you to the nice gentleman who traded. Shotgun will no be put to use squirrel hunting.

I've not had a pedersoli, but would think the quality out of the box would be better. With some work, this CVA turned out to be excellent. I also have to give a shout out to Deer Creek. I sent the locks in to them. They were friendly and very reasonable on price to replace main springs and adjust locks. Shotgun is light and handles well.

That is nice. Good job on the refinishing. I have a CVA 12 Gauge I purchased as a kit in 1981 from a trader at a black powder shoot. Spent a month on the build, on may kitchen table,(single then). The only thing I wish I had done was put stain on the English Walnut. I left it natural with about 10 coats of hand rubbed tung oil and slow browned all of the metal with WakonBay browning solution and using steel wool between each treatment which left the metal with a light smooth sheen. I like the darker wood of your refinish job. Hope it serves you well.

Looks great. I have one in 12 gauge that the barrels have been given an aged antique look. I like the idea of adding a butt plate.

Looks good. Never understood why CVA left off buttplates. Sold a complete kit about a year ago and wonder if buyer finished it.

they are going north of $600.00, on GUNBROKER. I have one that I have had and shot for over 30+yrs. made from a kit and it goes bang every time I take it out to shoot!!!
