Im in need of a cva hawken lock part, the part that the hammer connects to. I've still been trying to fix the cva hawken i bought off the classified section here and i think this is the last piece i need to get it functional.

Deet creek doesn't show the part i need, who else deals in cva parts.

Do you mean the tumbler? You could put a wanted add for parts in the Classifieds. How is it that is the missing part? They made a lot of them ,you should get one some where. Or maybe get the whole lock.

Im not sure what its called, the tip is broken where it engages the sear. I guess ill consider buying a new one, if its my only option.

do you have a picture of the exact part? i have a whatzit drawer with some cva parts.
the shiny piece?

Here is what is broken for reference. The tip that touches the sear is cracked off.

Wait until you have the replacement part in hand. Find that unassembled locks tend to have components that wonder away when not assembled.
Be especially careful of the tiny fly that is in the tumbler. You need the fly to lift the sear over the half cock notch when using the set trigger to fire the rifle. Maybe you will need to order a fly as well as the tumbler.

Is it the half cock notch that is broken in the tumbler? May be from the stress of dry firing the set trigger with the rifle at half cock. In the past, many recommendations were made to practice dry firing with the lock in half cock. Many broken tumblers later, that advice has been rethought. Dry fire with the hammer down.

It is the full cock notch. The tip is cracked.

Don’t see in your photograph where the piece cracked off. Are you sure it cracked off or is there an adjustment screw in the tumbler that is too far forward (I am not sure if your tumbler had an adjustment screw, but a lot of CVAs do)?
