I purchased a CVA Kentucky pistol this week that had a good bit of rust in the bore, more than I thought at first. I soaked the bore in ballistol and later ran a patch down with the ramrod. All I can say is that there was a lot of rust in there and it held onto that patch like a South Georgia tick in your hide. The ramrod broke. I soaked the mess with penetrating oil and searched the forums. I came across a genius post by Husky about using a grease zerk and a grease gun to pump it out. NAPA hooked me up with 6mm x 1mm grease zerk fittings. Within five minutes, the problem was solved. I just wanted to say thank you for the post, Husky! At least one South Georgia boy sure appreciates it!

Remember that trick when you have a hopelessly stuck dryball. SOP when all else fails before pulling the breech.

Looking at the grease zero on a barrel reminded me of my brothers and me having grease gun fights on the farm when it was about 100 degrees out and the grease got pretty thin. If you pumped the handle real fast it would shoot about 10 feet. Our mother thought we were real funny!

Nope, not the only thing that worked right... everything worked right because it ALL worked out. No sweat... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
