I might try that with the tap,but I already tried a punch to see if I could create a depression in an attempt to drill it out (knowing in my mind it probably wouldn't work) and it didn't break. Might try the point on the other side.

Carbon steel taps can be broken up, but if the tap you used is high speed steel (usually marked HSS on the tap), forget it. You won't be able to break it up and you won't be able to drill it--most drill bits are high speed steel and will either not cut the tap or will (most likely) break off.

Well, my following up with Muzzleloader's Builders Supply has paid off. They were really responsive. I got an e-mail back today saying that they have the same trigger I need and will send it to me at a very good price. I sent the forum address to them and they are going to research more into it.
