Definitely a replacement drum. You can send it to Deer Creek and they will install the correct type drum.

If the hammer is original, it is older model. Sometime in the early 80's they put a V-groove in the tip so the cap would fragment and fall out, but I believe those were Spanish locks. I am not 100 percent sure. The US made ones had a solid cup, and sometimes 2 or 3 caps would remain stuck in there until you could not get the rifle to fire. I always used my patch knife to pry them out when reloading.

could we do some trading? I have a Lyman 1851 BP 36 caliber revolver, I have no Idea what it is worth, Im sure some f the members can tell us what it's worth its in 90% ifn your interested
