These pictures show some of the many different CVA percussion locks over the years. I know that the double barrel shotgun locks and Siber target lock are not shown here. Sometimes, the lock plate appears the same, but the hammers are different and sometimes the different hammer is to have a different hammer throw/arc.

That's interesting, thanks.

Oh, by-the-by...did the catalogs work out for you? I hit the wrong button at the wrong time and wiped out the PT series! Yes, I'm the old triple threat...stumble, fumble and fall! :haha:

i have a 45 cal.cva Kentucky rifle it shoots great and have had for around 20 years and glad o bought moulds for bullets as you can't find 45 anywhere.it shoots deadon at 100 with round balls but doesn't shoot well with minnie balls.i replaced the no# 11 nipple with a musket nipple never a miss fire since

My .45 CVA Kentucky uses .440 balls and yours should too. Around here just about any decent gunshop usually has them. If you can`t find any locally .440 is one of the more common sizes and any of the mail order muzzleloader places should have some.

A further update. The round balls I got were made by Hornady .440 swaged. Cost $15.50 for box of 100. I live in The Peoples Republic of Maryland. Pick up round balls at a show in Virginia.
