CVA squirrel rifle

I purchaced a CVA squirrel rifle and am wondering what the barrel twist is and is it better to shoot round ball or conical bullets.

Roundball it's all you need in a 32 cal

Mine both the 32 and 45 cal barrels are 1-48 twist i believe

Both my Squirrel Rifle, and Varminter are 1-48 twist. .310 PRB in that rifle. Get to know her some, and she will put a smile on your face, and squirrels on your plate.

I had a .32 CVA many moons ago and now have the CVA .36 squirrel rifle and, if I'm not mistaken, the were both 1:48. Both very accurate and reliable. I've only ever shot patched round balls in all my guns so can't comment on other bullets, but the PRB's have done a fine job in these smaller caliber rifles. Let us know how it turns out. The little CVA rifles are alotta fun.

The CVA squirrel rifle I had (and sold regretfully) had a 1:56" twist rate. It shot round ball extremely well.

The .32 I have is 1-48". Use a .310" - .311" ball with a lubed patch around .015" & 20 to 30 grains of 3F and go from there.
