My CVA BP 50 cal Mountain pistol trigger is entirely free to move without any back pressure or tension.
A friend told me that he installed a coil spring to put back pressure on the trigger.
Do you have any recommendations on what I can do ?
The trigger pull is also very heavy
How can I adjust the trigger pull?

Not sure how your buddy installed the spring, that simple trigger is/was desinged to just flop around.
The trigger pull is adjusted by a screw in the tumbler shown by the arrow in the top photo, your lock will be more like the bottom photo but you can still see the screw.
The further down the screw, the sooner the sear will break from the tumbler notch.
Please be carefull, you can go too far and make the gun unsafe.

A simple wire spring can be attached to the front of the trigger plate and under the rear of the trigger to hold it against the sear.

In some models the spring can be simply wound around the trigger pivot pin and then back against the trigger and push against the trigger plate. I installed one years ago like that on a CVA Kentucky rifle which had a similar trigger to the kentucky pistol.
