Sorry to say it Mike but you are beating a dead horse. This guy is not gonna learn anything from the likes of you or I. He's gonna stomp his foot
Yes, the tension is great enough to make the hand do BOTH its jobs.

For the hands with MOUNTED flat or coils, the spring element moves WITH the hand in an ever increasing compression during the cycle. The pictures in post #60 show this clearly.

Mike
But not with your spring and plunger that decreases tension in the stroke rise proving there is no need for tension increase because there is no braking action from the hand !
The pictures in post #60 show this clearly.
out the popcorn and watch him circle the drain. If and When the light finally comes on for you there will be a feast of crow for you to eat
You strike me as having enough brains to eventually come to the light ! Yager I'm not so sure about ! 😄

He's gonna stomp his foot and foam at the mouth every time someone mentions the hand tension acting as a braking force on the cylinder. I have a hard time believing he has any real experience with tuning or repairing revolvers. The more he opens his yap the more he shows how much he doesn't know. Best bet is get out the popcorn and watch him circle the drain.
Your still pissed about the comment of hoping your tuning skills are better than your sloppy, chain fire producing loading admission , aren't you ? 😄 Well, it's a true statement and I sincerely hope you do better in the future !
We all mess up at times and the thing to do is fess up and make a change !
Having a chain fire from a mechanical problem is one thing but spilling powder all over and not cleaning up before firing is just plain dumb and you should be called on it !
Well if you mean not learning something I know to be patently incorrect ...................... your right !

I'm no gun smith by any stretch of the imagination, but if their wasn't braking, a simple qick pull of the hammer and then lowering it without the bolt popping
Up would allow the cylinder to keep spinning until inertia stops it, and it doesn't. The "hand brake" slows it to a hault.

At least that's my understanding having only ever handled the 5 I own

I did fess up, When are you going to? Why don't you admit that you don't understand the single action platform, come on, we all know it at this point. Looks like I called it on the temper tantrum. I really find the hypocrisy amazing. You claimed in earlier posts that you were willing to learn and yet here you are doing exactly the opposite. I think a brick wall is easier to convince at this point. I gotta go to the store...ran out of popcorn.
