D&L Waterless Handgoop for bore lube/cleaner ?

Kureious 'bout that stuff and BPsoot.

This is the version in white plastic container and pure white gel, with no abrasives -- costs a buck or two for small version and a coupla-four bucks for a half-gallon in the auto-parts aisle.

Looking over the list of ingredients, it appears to have lotsa the stuff a BP bore could use. After reading the referred strings [thanks for those] on Moose By-Products for ML chores, does anyone recall thr DL being used?

just trying to keep from re-inventing the wheel, as I want to get going to waterless bore cleaning.

Have a flint .40 Po'boy and a .577 re-pop Musketoon, both of which have bbls worth keeping. Appreciatte opinion or fact. Thanks.

I use Go-Jo myself, a buck for a tub on special at Auto-Zone. Works for me, and I use a drop atop felt pad when loading (after dumping powder).
At the range about every 30 shots I dump windsheild washer fluid in barrel, let soak, pour out and use bore mop with Go-Jo to clean, then dry patch. Sure makes it easy to clean the lock when afield, scrub with toothbrush coated with it and rinse with hot water, leaves some sort of 'greasy' film. And I scrub around the drum/nipple area and wipe the barrel down with it.

Sounds reasonable considering it's chemicals. Will have to do some 'rust' tests. Nothing against the 'moose parts' cleaners. i think they are wonderful, but this is my double-busy season and a shortcut or two [that works and leaves no damage] is welcome.

I use it as a patch lube also, doesn't take much or anyway my CVA .50 seems to shoot better with a patch that isn't 'soaking wet'. I carry it in a squeeze tube when going trekking. I use a felt overpowder wad with a drop atop, run down atop powder then PRB lubed with it. sure makes it convenient and a tubeful carrys plenty for 2-3 days in the woods. If I shoot more than a couple shots I pull the barrel and do a good wipe-down with the stuff. Leaves a slick film of a sort.
Some other fellas use it also but they didn't post.
