I shoot at a club. Club rules 60 seconds.
My first venture a couple months ago was with Pyrodex in a side lock in the cold LOTS of "Delay Fires" or Misfires. Finally found some Goex and zero issues so far in 30 shots of BP.
My method for the Pyrodex was after waiting 60 seconds for a Misfire (each time)

wait 2 minutes, pull nipple, load 1/2 the contents of a 22 shell under nipple, shove in with pick, then cap and shoot.
Loading powder under nipple worked the 100% of the time in the 3 instances I had to do it.
Couple guys said they ALWAYS load under the nipple when hunting with Pyrodex on a side lock
