I cut mine with a hacksaw or coping saw. I dril them with an electric hand drill. Be careful when drilling because it is real easy to drill out through the side. And wear a mask so you don't breath in the dust. It is not good for your lungs.

Use to use a hack saw before I got a band saw, prefer the later. I'll use a drill to ream out the most of what I want removed and finish it up with a dremmel (for those of you who don't own one yet - you won't be sorry as there the cats arse.
Sometimes I will use a grinder to give them a scorched look around the edge or after using the dremmel to cut in a design, I'll put oil on it then use a propane torch (lightly) to give it a weathered/old look.
Yes, be careful as its easy to drill too far. Stop often, hold the antler up to the light and look for thinning. Many times, I end up holding the antler as you generally can tell by the heating up that your getting too close to the edge (or the blood on your hand will tell you that you've ruined the project)

Now you know you ain't supposed to be holding onto what you're drilling. That's why they invented bench vises, you know that big blocky steel thing that sets next to all the unassembled safety guides for the table saw and router.

I use a hack saw to cut them off the skull. Then a drill bit in a drill press working horn back and forth to enlage the hole( being carefull not to come out the side). I use a dremel tool with and end mill to do the finish work. Buy a dremel tool and lean to use it it is well worth the money. :m2c:
