Well she did her job and so did I, nice doe 40 yard shot through the ribs. RB over 70 grains FF.
Devastating damage, entry hole the size of your thumb, ball is in the far shoulder so will post pics when i retrieve it.

Way to go PitchyPine. Don't get no better than that. :hatsoff:

Thanks rebel, I forgot to mention the shot knocked her clean over then she got up and ran about 75 yards and ran into a tree dead.

"Yer the man", Congratulations !!
:hatsoff:

(Pssssst: there's no 12 step program for Flintlocks...all you can do is try to keep it in remission by shooting more and more, smelling more Goex smoke, getting other calibers, etc...don't even try to fight it...it'll be easier if you just come along quietly)

Congrats!

Nice sized doe though she has a young looking head. Weird! :)

I had her head all twisted around toward the camera and that made it look small.
Yep i`m hooked now, i`m done with rife season for this year, can get one more with my bow which will make three, have my sights on that big buck with that. Thanks guys i appreciate your support, its been fun. :hatsoff:

I know it wasn`t a real big deer, a yearling i`m guessin.
Wanted to hold out for a bigger one but between our horses and the deer they have the field eat down to nothing. With talk of snow moving in they would of quit coming in so i decided to take her while the getten was good.

Hello PitchPine,

congratulations and "Waidmanns Heil" from Bavaria, Germany. I'm always surprised again how good a RB will work. I think German gouverner has to change the hunting law.

Pitchypine:

Great looking doe. Congratulations. And your first deer with a flinter. That's great.

Thanks guys, couldn`t of done it without your alls help :hatsoff:
Took the metal detector and the ball is still in the far shoulder so i`ll post a pic of it tonight.
I`m amazed how big the entry hole is, quarter diamiter. I`m not afraid of shooting anything with it now. Only thing that might get my knees shaking would be if a grizzly was standing on his hind legs in front of me and i got the click, puff, silence. :shocked2:
