This is an early model of the replica Cook & Brother carbine with SN 6580. Made by Armi San Paolo and imported by EUROARMS. It has obviously seen use as a reenactor weapon, as it has been partially defarbed (modern markings removed) and its finish artificially distressed to give it that "Been there, done that" look. The manufacturers markings on barrel have been removed, but the incorrect COOK & BROTHER stamp on lock remains. It comes with an authentic canvas and leather sling attached with period correct hooks. There is a brass disc attached to sling. Stock is in good distressed condition with no cracks or gouges. There is a silver cross inlayed in the right side of buttstock. The new ones that are made by Pedersoli retail now around $1200 plus tax and shipping, if available. This one is all ready for that Civil War reenactor camp. $625 SHIPPED.
