Has anyone ordered from DGW or TOTW recently? I have orders in with each, and was just curious what kind of time frame to expect.

Thanks!

DW

I order from both with alarming regularity and have been seeing anywhere from 2-5 days "processing" from both plus whatever transit time the shipper of choice requires. The processing time has been fairly consistent from both sellers, but the carriers have been giving me fits! I've had numerous packages just wander around all over the country before finally arriving, go missing from tracking for several days, etc. USPS is by far the worst and FedEX is something of a trash fire, based on my recent experience. UPS seems to still be mostly dressed and sober...

Thanks for the reply! This is my first time ordering from either of them. I have been having similar issues with other orders, and agree completely with your appraisal of USPS and FedEx both.

Did you order items that where "in stock" from each seller?

Processing times for both are usually 24hrs for each to slap a label on the box
But we're in the middle of a shipping crisis aren't we?
With that, I could share current stories of woe with USPS and UPS. It seems the usual 3-5 days is taking 2-3 weeks.
Good luck.

Funny how I used to just place orders with no consideration for whether an item was in stock or not. Nowadays, many of my friends and I won't even shop a website if it doesn't have real-time inventory tracking. Just another fundamental change "nowadays" has dropped in our laps, I guess.

Yes, all items in both orders showed "In Stock". Yeah, I have noticed that it is sometimes taking longer to get out the door. Not really a big deal, was just curious more than anything. I probably would have not thought much about it at all, except for an order I placed earlier in the year with Crazy Crow. Not meaning anything bad towards CC, I just didn't understand their protocol when I ordered.

I have to agree, except USPS and FedEx is a toss up. I have waited all day for a package to be delivered, only to get a message at the end of the day that it couldn't be delivered because I wasn't available. Say you couldn't find my place, You ran out of time, You didn't feel like it. But don't tell me that I wasn't available when I was home all day.

I have had good results with DGW, it's the shipping that can be frustrating, Had one package arrive in Phoenix, siad next day delivery and then it went to Indiana or some place than back to Phoenix, was told it was a delivery exception

I am signed up for informed delivery from the USPS, I get a email of what is supposed to arrive that day, usually it is pretty good, but SOMETIMES really frustrating

Depends on what you order & where you are. USPS is the best in MY AREA(IOWA), but I have had trouble sending & receiving anything from either coast with them. Just ordered some front sights from TOTW. They responded with an email the same day, shipped them the next day, & I had them in hand two days later. Everyone complains about everything now-a-days, but the whole country is a mess with regards to shipping ANYTHING it seems. So, you pays your money & takes your chances!

I'm not complaining about the vendor! It is the delivery time. If it takes 3,4 days fine.if it takes a week ok, but if I have to sign for something and I am notified that it is to be delivered on a certain day and then it's not because I wasn't available when I was, that's the problem

Same here with FedEx, “delivered” the package to my front door with signature “not required”, only thing is I was home waiting for the package and they never showed up! Order some 60 lbs of kead from Chicago, I am in MN, package came to Minneapolis and from there ended up in Houston, Tx!!!! I took 10 days to get it back to Mn. That was USPS. TOWT took four days to ship English flints last week! So I guess “slow” is the new norm! After all the the New York Times advice that Americans need to Get used to the idea of not need entitled!!!

When I was a kid you could set your watch by the mailman 9am on the dot. I live in the same farm house for almost 66 years now. Our mail has come as early as 11am and as late as 3pm. Place your bets gentleman 😎

Seems as though delivery time gets a little longer each order I make to either, and even other articles as well. It seems as though the orders make it a distribution house and just sits, sometimes for a week. Chicago, being the very worst, and then Kansas City.

I hear you, weather it's short supply, short handed or just don't care, THIS IS GETTING TO BE A BIG MESS !

I guess it all depends on where you live. I live in a small town in north central Florida and really have had no problems. But we know the UPS driver and are friendly with our USPS lady. Fedex I don't know any of their drivers because they are not from our town but unless it's BP or must have signatures they leave the package where I instructed. Love small towns.

This has no bearing on you're post. I ordered 4 lbs. of Black powder from Graff's, 150 miles from my house
a simple 2 1/2 hr drive. I chose to have it delivered. Those 4 lbs went from Mexico Mo. to Columbia Mo, then
to Kansas City Mo , then to Chicago Ill. then to Ottumwa Ia and finally to Centerville Ia. , 1013 miles and 5 days
latter arrived at my door. More miles on the black powder than I put on my car going to Dallas Tx to visit
daughters family. I understand that mail and packages have terminals they must pass through on their journey
it just seems funny . Then when you hear that USPS , UPS and others are loosing money you wonder why ???
I wouldn't worry too much about delivery times , you will get the product, we just have to remember to order
things with enough lead time before anticipated need.

Thanks for all the replies! I also live in a small town, in SW Missouri. I will update when the orders ship. Nothing critical in the orders, just some project materials. Also have a cap maker on the way, that has already shipped.
