Well that is one of the ships I have not set foot on. She is brand spanking new. Commishened in Sept.2012. I sure your Blunderbuss will be promently displayed.

Dennis sort of fell into a deal for making one for the U.S.S. Texas a few years back. The navy was impressed and he's somewhat become the blunderbuss maker to Texas named ships!

Do you make the spring loaded bayo device or do you find parts for it. Very curious and want one.

Sadly, I don't have the talent to do something like that, only the ability to appreciate it. I'll ask Dennis but usually, about all he buys are barrels. Will check with him and be back.

OK, Dennis's comment to a question on the "Muzzleloader Builders" forum site is, "I made the spring bayonet totally from scratch, there are 3 springs. One lift spring that compresses under the base of the bayonet, a spring that locks it in the open position and one in the catch. You can find Dennis Heckathorne on several of the muzzleloader sites around the net. Have known him for nearly 40 years and you'd have thought some of his talent would have rubbed off on me, but noooo! Dennis is a grand guy, I'm sure he'd love to answer any question you might have and share his vast knowledge.
