Destroyed patches

Just a follow up. .013 (compressed) patches load & shoot great. But were burning up. Cant get .015 patches compressed to even start , even with crisco. So went with suggestions , used ox yoke wonder wads .58 cal for my .54 cal over powder then .013 pillow ticking with 1:7 balistol & water. I am happy with the groups & recovered patches are perfect. Thank you all for the input.

Sure is nice when things works out. Its funny. You can have 4,5,6 or 7 BP rifles and know exactly what each eats the best. I love when the magic load is discovered. Confidence in your piece is a good thing.
