i have been playin with my hawk alot lately since its hunting season, and was thinkin i know my dad could use one even if he doesn't know it......and we are close to christmas,.....

so i grabbed a rr spike and took an hour out of my day to hammer on it a little,. haven't used my forge in a year, but it fired right up and worked like a champ. ahh the simple pleasures...

got about 30 minutes more of clean up tapping or so,make the spike part "neater", and i need to even the eye a bit as i got a little off center.

chuck a handle in the lathe and clean up the head/put an edge on it....yup! should be done just in time for x mas

Looks good to me, much better than my last attemot at a hawk. My hawks are still horrendous, but my arrowheads and knives are starting to look like what I intend them to be so I'm improving, slowly. Keep up the good work.

here is the one i did before.

they sure do make field cleaning squirrels a snap!

i read up on blacksmithing and made this one after i ran through a field leading up to a massive valley, loading a bareball to finish a spine shot deer.

i got it done but decided from then on i would have a way to immediately end the encounter.

would you mind posting up (right here in this thread is fine by me) pics of your arrowheads!? im an archer first, love to see what you've done!
