Hi. This morning I was at my shooting club (in Asturias, in the North of Spain), adjusting the sights on my Frontier rifle from Dikar (CVA). I have transformed it from percussion to flint-lock and it works great with the new Ardesa lock. I have used the following load: 45 grains of German black powder (3FFF Wano), 15 grains of semolina, a .015" linen patch and .440 ball of 128 grains. It groups very well at 50 meters. I guess this model rifle sold very well in the US in the late seventies and eighties. Here is the link to the video. The vent liner has been made following the internal coning technique, proposed by Chambers and other European expert shooters. The shot is instantaneous with French prime powder, PNF 4. And that the day is very humid, because in the North of Spain it rains almost all winter.
Surely in the United States you also have a lot of experience with this rifle. Greetings from Spain.
