I recently placed a WANTED ad for a .31 or .36 revolver. Someone responded and offered to sell me one on here, instead of send a PM. That would, I suppose, normally be ok but another new user responded, on here, offering to buy it. Let's all remember to use common courtesy on here, please.

Hmmmm ... sounds like you've got a bidding war on your hands. Make the most of it!! May the highest bidder win ... 😁

Bidding wars are best done at night and by people who drink heavily.

Just like on Gunbroker.

Crazy prices cuzz neither party wants to lose.
Courtesy: First responder gets the shot at it. Multiple inquiry,s get lined up in the order in which they came in. Or..at least thats the way it should be...

Whom are you talking to? I'm the potential buyer. Explain please how the situation is to my benefit. Thanks.

It's not, money-wise; but it is if you're willing to up your bid. It's just how buying and selling works when there's one seller and multiple buyers.
The point is that there shouldn't have been multiple buyers! The guy stepped on Tom's toes on his wanted ad.

When someone starts a wanted thread looking for a specific item and another member says he has one he would sell him, it's a given that the OP has first chance at it.

So what you’re saying is that when we see you bid on something we should all take turns bumping up the bid on you, correct? Or when you post a wanted post we should take turns saying ‘we’ll take it when someone says they have what you want. Thought most for sale or wanted items on this forum weren’t set up like an auction…. Sounds like we have a new spectator sport when @wiscoaster is looking to buy or is looking for something. Guess it’s just how you want buying and selling to work.

Getting to work at midnight and trucks from up and down the east coast are delivering perishable fish. Trying to figure out what he right price for any of it is today as compared to yesterday. Talking to people in Boston, New York and Baltimore seeing what they are doing. Hard core retail operators hammering you on a price before you even have a coffee. Think you want to hammer ME on a gun or primer price?
