Does anyone have any experience with the barrels from Japan used on some of the Dixie Gun Work's rifles? Are they pretty good shooters?

Thanks!

The rifle in my avatar is a TMR restocked by George Dech into a PA rifle. It's an excellent shooter. The barrel is accurate and the lock is fast.

At 15/16" across the flats and a bit of 41" long, it's muzzle heavy. Dech turned my to 1/3 octagon x 2/3 round, which improved the balance in my opinion

He retained the barrel, triggers, and lock when he built this. Strangely enough he also retained the original 9mm diameter ramrod made from Japanese mystery wood. I replaced that, first with the wooden one in the pic and more recently with a delrin rod from TOTW.

Can be phenomenal shooters, Most of it, like any barrel, depends on you.

Great shooters! I’ve had a few. The very early builds with walnut stocks and 7/8 barrels while similar in appearance have a very different feel and balance.
