Dixie Percussion caps

I inherited about 1300 #11 Dixie caps .IIRC, they are pretty hot but very corrosive. Anyone have any experience with them? Will a good normal cleaning prevent the corrosion?

I don't know why people have a problem with corrosive caps. The powders themselves are corrosive.

If and I mean IF they are corrosive they aren’t anymore corrosive than any type of black powder and pyrodex. There isn’t a corrosive primer made that’s any more corrosive than pyrodex. Clean as usual and they will be fine.

Thank the stars that you got sooo many. A lot of the guys are still scrounging just to find a tin of 100.

Shouldn't be a problem with those caps. (Congrats on getting them, by the way. Caps are tough to find right now.) Just clean as usual.

The corrosive part is no big deal so is BP and Pyrodex they all clean up with water by the way. You need to do that anyway.
