Dixie Tennessee Rifle

I may have the chance to buy a DGW Tennessee Mountain Rifle in 50cal. It is stocked in cherry. Is this a good gun? If I remember right it was above average for historical accuracy.

I wouldn't pay more than $300 in excellent condition.

I have a 32 caliber and it's really muzzle heavy. I put a new green mountain barrel and a set of Davis double set triggers in it and it's tack driver.

I have a Dixie TMR with Flint and Cap locks. It is muzzle heavy but works well. I need to put better triggers in her and it would be fine for me. You could do worse with some other guns. :m2c:Jim

I've had a DGW TMR in .50 cal for years. Love the rifle. Have taken many furry critters and hit many steel targets with it. Have both flint and caplock. Loads are the same with each lock. I put some lead in the but end to counter weight that 42 inch barrel. Point of balance is now directly under the rear sight. Definitly not a rifle for the weak armed if you're gonna carry it all day. :thumbsup: :RO: :m2c:
