I was just going to order the Dixie Gun works catalog, but it is way to much. The darn thing is $5 plus shipping it costs $11. For a catalog! They are trying to sell stuff to the consumer. Why is the consumer paying so much for the catalog? I understand many companies charge for their catalog but, :imo: adding shipping to the price is to much.

...except for the fact that the dixie catalog is like, the size of a phone book! It weighs a couple of pounds....but $11.00 for shipping? Are you sure that was the shipping price, or was it the total cost WITH shipping? Just curious, I haven't ordered one for a couple of years.

You're reading something wrong. Their 2004 Blackpowder Annual lists the catalog for $5.00 with no shipping.(800) 238-6785 (Major Credit Cards Accepted). Order it seperately if you have it listed with shiiping required somewhere.

The last 1/4" of pages is referance material that is worth the price. :imo:

Dixie is definately not a discount warehouse, but they are good people and Turner, now deceased, is 80% responsible for keeping muzzleloading alive through the 60's and 70's. If you have any interest in the originals it is a dream book. Schematics and, by gum, original parts! I buy from them regularly just out of respect and loyalty. I'd neve have sold my .32 Tennessee flinter if I suspected it would end up discontinued. That was like if Nabisco closed the OREO plant.

You can find lots of the stuff they sell cheaper, but you can't find lots of the remaining stuff they sell elsewhere.

It don't cost no bucks fer shippin, but I'm shore they'll take yer money if ya want to pay it, butt I wouldn't pay a penny over a dollar twenty...well you know.

Me, I'm lookin fer last year's from sumbuddy at a discount, cash an carry, start the bid at a dollar twenty...there I go agin.

Regards, sse

i've never paid more than $5 and its well worth it if you never order anything.
snake-eyes :peace: :) :)

The $11 is with the shipping. I ordered the catalog and went through the check out procedure and the total included almost $6 for shipping. I want the catalog for the information in the back more than anything, but I don't think I want it that much. Does the back of the catalog change year to year or does the information, tables, etc. stay the same?

SSE, I'll give you a $1.29 for your DGW catalog. :haha:
