I am planning to sell my CVA Colonial cap and ball muzzle loading pistol. Can I just send it to the buyer or does it have to be sent to a FFl dealer?
Check your local state requirements. It’s getting kind of crazy out there since the Supreme Court Ruled in favor of the 2nd Amendment

I bought a Uberti 1851 navy from DGW last spring and they shipped it direct to the house in Illinois, no forms needed but Midway would not.

Not sure about today.

This is a VERY OFTEN discussed subject here. Answer is NO.
You should review some of the changes certain states & municipalities have made before giving out a blanket NO. It is absolutely required that you ship any gun, including Muzzleloaders, C&B revolvers & in some cases air rifles, to a FFL in some jurisdictions.

Colorado here... And its not a very gun freindly state. My BP guns all got sent directly to me from the dealer

A question I must ask .With the new federal laws regarding (unmentionable ) 80% receivers to be in effect August this year and the muzzle loader question above will muzzle loader KITS now fall under the 80% law ? I have purchased several flintlocks and had them shipped direct but the 80% law will be a federal law ghost guns and all that stuff does any one have an idea?

The Federal Law covers manufacture of modern firearms, and Federal Law classifies what we call "traditional muzzleloaders" as "antique firearms" which means they are in a different category. Even if you build it tomorrow, it's still an "antique" to them.
